MC1.2KW vs MC601's ...
I heard my first pair of MC1.2KW's and was VERY impressed  . Now I have a question (of course). Is the technology in the MC601's derived from and improved upon from the MC1.2KW's or can it be considered similar but lower power? What I heard from the MC1.2KW's was smooth and easy. A great listen, very satisfying. Are the sonic signatures similar? Oh boy, here we go.....

Joe.... I have heard the 601's on two occasions; once at CES, and another time at a friends home.
Although I have not heard them side by side; I believe them to sound more alike than different. Obviously you know I'm a huge fan of the MC1.2K's (currently own... well too many) I really don't think you would be making a mistake either way. Many here own the 1.2K's and it will undoubtedly be their last amp. :smoking: Good Luck! |

All I can say is the 1.2Kw is a sweet amplifier in ever way. Looks good, sounds good and plays effortlessly.

I really thought the 501's would be my last amps because they are so damn good. I had a great opportunity to acquire the 1.2KW's and could not pass it up. The ease of presentation from the 1.2KW's never ceases to amaze me. 601's or 1.2KW's is a great choice to have and would probably sound very close on many speakers but, on the XRT1K speakers, the 1200W plus on each channel is a match made in heaven.
If the new technology in the 601's is consistent with advances of the MCD1100, then it is definitely an amp to audition carefully. |

+1 It's true! |
Joe, Buy the 601's and spend the extra $$$ upgrading your Micro's. 1.2's with Micros makes no sense. With all due respect....

601's and 1.2K's sound the same to me. A big step up from the 501's. If you are looking for something different, I would go for the 2301's. Just my opinion.
