My 2010 in Music

[Still-One]

As we enter the last month of 2010 I started thinking about the artists and music that were important to me this past year.

Artists - new to me this year.
Katherine Jenkins – After seeing her in an on-line CNN interview I ordered a couple of her CD's. Howard suggested a coupe more and I now have five. Linda and I were fortunate to get tickets to see her first ever US concert.
Fink – “Sort of Revolution” and “Distance and Time” . Hard artist to classify.
Amy MacDonald - Her 2008 “This Is The Life” is one of the better debut albums I have picked up in some time. Amy’s 2010 follow up “A Curious Thing” has some fine moments too.
Mumford & Son’s - I think “Sigh No More” is a great debut album. I looked to see where they were playing but every one of there US shows was Sold Out.
Shannon Whitworth – “Waterbound”. Thanks to Dan for playing this artist..
Laura Marling – “I Speak Because I Can” I guess you call this New Folk.

Jim.......I guess this is just about you and me. I thought at the least some folks would chime in on their top 10 picks for 2010 listening.

Jim...My only new artist/title in 2010 was Rodrigo Y Gabriella 11:11, she plays an insane guitarra with her husband Rodrigo backing her up. I did acquire a mutha load of SACD, gold, MFSL and Japan audiophile discs, but no other new artists/titles from 2010. Dan would probably enjoy the unaltered sound quality of these Japan first pressings of Sade Diamond Life, Promise and Stronger Than Pride
