Preamp Tubes--Which Types are the Most Musical Sounding?
In my experience one of the most musical sounding preamp tubes for Jazz is the sweet little Western Electric 396A.
For classical music I prefer Telefunken ECC81 for its accuracy. What are your picks? Last edited by Steady339; 01-27-2016 at 02:18 AM. |

6DJ8 BugleBoy tubes sound pretty nice. I use a set in a X10 clone buffer on my SS system. Takes the edge off of digitally recorded music.
