Default 2014 CES - Who's Going

It's a little more than 3 weeks away. I'm going if I can escape work.

You can't go unless you are in the audio business, correct?

It's open to people with industry affiliation, but that's a loose term. I'm in advertising which is one of the categories listed when you register. I don't know what you do for a living, but if you have a business card you can probably find a category that fits (or make fit).

I am a software manager...sure I could make it work, but I wanted to bring my son, and it said nobody under 18...he's 16. And they must also be in an approved field. So I'm gonna pass on this one.

Once you are registered for any reason you can access most areas and events except the ones you need to make reservations for like Keynote Addresses.

Audiophiles tend to think of CES in terms of audio at the Venetian. In reality that is only part of CES. The main events are in the Convention Center and other locations and they are not audio related except for Best Buy type brands. If someone is registered because they are in the IT business (computers, tablets), cell phones, televisions or home alarms, etc. they can also access the Venetian towers and all the shiny toys there.

That is my understanding. If I am wrong someone please gently correct me.

In addition, T.H.E. Show website clearly states that anyone with a CES badge can attend T.H.E. Show.

I'm a high school English teacher...that's going to be a tricky affiliation to establish!
