A former customer of mine owns Vintage Electric Bikes in Santa Clara. Went and checked them out about a year ago. Super cool looking, comfortable to ride, and pretty quick. For me however the $5K price tag (entry level) was a bit too much for something I considered a novelty. I’m not a serious bike rider any longer. I once competed in BMX and downhill mountain bike races. But after some serious spills I hung up my helmet.

There's not too many downhills on loose gravel's on the road Don. I love the idea of a vintage e bike, pity you can't get 'em in blighty. Perhaps your friend can look in to it? I'd use one all the time, hardly a novelty for me.

Default Any Electric Bike owners here?

These things are great. I wish I had one on the steep 500’ climb from the city to our house. But....

No E-bikes on any of the Salida Mountain Trails.

salidamountaintrails.org

Since the feds (NFS and BLM) classify e-bikes as motorized vehicles, they are not allowed.

Maybe I‘ll need some assistance when I’m 80, I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.
