David, some men are blessed not having to worry about WAF. Anyone dropping that kind of change on a pair of speakers is obviously looking for serious performance, not to please their wives with the look of the gear...

I'll be honest, I don't even get the whole WAF thing. If both parties agree to spend part of family budget on high end gear, there should be an understanding that they are buying performance first and foremost, not a piece of furniture. Besides, most wives couldn't care less about our hobby and don't actually sit and listen like we do, so why should the look of a speaker determine the outcome of whether we are allowed to own it or not? Think about it!

Now, having a dedicated room and still worrying about what your wife says, that is something that would boil me over completely.

Someone should form a "MAWAF" (Men Against Wife Acceptance Factor) coalition and hold support groups for the unfortunate ones.

By the way, my wife really likes the Wilson speaker look, she also liked SF before them. Some speakers she really didn't care for but I have never heard her complain. It's called mutual respect.

I don't find Wilson's to be any less attractive than most high end speakers as long as they are not painted in Fly Yellow, Bright Red, Grabber Blue etc. Compared to other speakers in their price range they are not excessively large either. After having odd looking speakers such as DQ-10's, 802d's and now 111e's, she might think they were rather normal looking.

Lucky? I'd say it's more of mutual respect and understanding and the way it should be when 2 people share their whole lives together.

Nice of them to offer so many colors though. Much easier to "please" those tough spouse critics.

All right, we get it...

But...A speaker is designed to reproduce music, not please the Mrs.. Pearls have a high WAF, but stink on making music.

Im not saying good looks and good sound are mutually exclusive things, but I have seen some beautiful speakers I couldn't wait to get out of my house. I LOVE the way Wilson looks, and I think it looks more classy than some others think ooze class.

And PS...the Maxx IIIs are unbelievable speakers, not good, not very good, not great, they are unbelievable.

So "mutual respect" = wife lets me do what I want, even though I'd do it anyway?

In my house mutual respect means we talk about a purchase like speakers because they do impact the decor of a room . I appreciate how good the Wilson speakers sound, I have heard the Sasha, Sohia and Max 3. They are wonderful sounding speakers . I will not own them because the aesthetics don't appeal to me.
