Howie.......Thank you for allowing us to read Damian Janzen's email to you. His response was thorough, and enlightening. It is exactly the type of response I would hope to receive from any high-end company upon reporting a component failure. I appreciate Damian's detailed report of what caused the failure, which parts took a hit, and the explanation that reassures us our equipment is safe when powered by a PurePower product. Kudos to Damian Janzen and PurePower. This is how you develop long term relationships with customers, and instill confidence in prospective customers minds who are considering purchasing your products. Well done.

Good choice, Furman's are very reliable, and I wouldn't be suprised if they sound better than the PPP

Yah!.....Most definitely a dream not worth having.....that being said Howie, when the PurePower 2000 was working fine, what was your 'before' and 'after' thoughts on your overall system performance?.....Recently some folks having been raving to me about PS Audio's PerfectWave Power Plant 5 and 10 AC power regenerators, and unfortunately, that got the little gremlins running laps in my brain, despite the fact that I've already put down a deposit for the PurePower 3000 which has yet to arrive....any thoughts on this?.....Philip

The PP was much better than the PPP in my system. The blacks were blacker, the instruments more pronounced, the soundstage more evident. Overall the sound was crisper. The PPP was a great piece and half the price of the pp so perhaps it would be unfair to judge and I never had a problem with it or its sound either. but relatively the PP beats it.

Here's hoping my new one performs equally if not better.

Thanks for giving your impressions regarding your PurePower 2000 (PP2000). Despite the PS Audio Power Plant Premier (PPP) being about USD 1,000 cheaper than the PP2000 (now the PPP is about USD 1,500 cheaper than the PP2000 after the recent PP price hike), it's reassuring to know that the PP2000 provides an obvious performance improvement over your PPP, and that certainly provides me much comfort in sticking with my initial intention of going through with my PurePower 3000 (PP3000) purchase. Given the amount that we all each spend on our hobby, USD 1,000-1,500 is certainly not a deal breaker by any stretch!

Also, from what I've read from the PS Audio thread on AA, spec-wise, the new PS Audio Perfectwave Power Plant 10 (PW P10) is similar to the PPP, and there does not seem to be any rush for existing PPP owners to upgrade to the PW P10 (or PW P5 for that matter). So given your comments regarding the performance comparison between your PPP and your new PP2000, the PP2000 remains an attractive "buy" option (at least in my view). In addition, given your current unfortunate incident with your PP2000, the response and actions of the PurePower folks in addressing your case are most encouraging, coupled with the positive experiences/comments made by other AA members regarding their experience with their PP's (in other threads on AA), only goes to further bolster my resolve to purchase the PP3000.

Once again, many thanks!

Philip

Howie...thanks for sharing Damien's letter to you and glad to hear you will be getting a replacement soon. Unfortunate as the incident might have been, as others have said, it is reassuring to see first class service being delivered from a first class company
