Not sure if the measurements are correctly taken, too much change in the lower frequencies, can not be caused by the ceiling reflections, microphone or speakers must be in slightly different position.
Still interesting to try something like this without a huge investment

Ikea Seagrass Ceiling Cloud for $25; no drilling required.
I agree. I don’t understand how those panels on his ceiling raised the output of his room in the LOW FREQUENCIES. It puts the entire process into question for me.

They are at the end of the first video and make no sense at all.

If this doesn't work, a better alternative is something from Gik perhaps? Other ideas?
I don't recognize much in the way of reflections from my ceiling. The attic is just above and it's insulated with icynene foam, so maybe most of the sound passes through the drywall and into the icynene. But I don't know much about room acoustics. I might be trying to find a problem that doesn't really exist |

No expert here but let me try to help you understand. The ‘cloud’s’ aim is to tame reflections from high frequencies (short wave lengths) which cannot escape through your drywall. They reflect back into your room and bounce all over. Those reflections cause your ears to hear the same note from different angles all separated by fractions of seconds. Some of this reflections actually cancel other reflections as they are meeting at opposite points of the sound wave. The change you should hear, if your ‘cloud’ is effective, is a better sound stage focus, instrument separation and clearer overall sound - especially in the higher frequencies. If you don’t hear much of an effect, then consider yourself lucky or yes, you could try GIK (or other makers) ceiling panels. I have used GIK 244s) in the past in a room with a low 7’6” ceiling and they were very effective. The cloud will not stop low frequency notes nor will your drywall. Have you already tamed the first reflections on your side walls, floor and rear wall? Start there if not.

I'm finally glad I don't have an Ikea anywhere nearby.

That’s a great idea and I’ll give it a try and post pics and all after the group lets me start my own post. I’m still a newbie and really like the post I’ve found so far
