What about attaching an additional power amp to the E-600 for the bass? TMO you can decide so for any speaker in combination with the E-600.

I want to stay on class A...
I know next upgrade to seperates is C pre and A-45 power.

But is an upgrade possible by only changing the speakers ?

Of course it is! Only your ears can tell you that!

I am actually upgrading my speakers this week.

Absolutely. You just need to insure the speakers and room match the amount of power available. For instance, the 805D3 ask about above might be good if the room is small enough and you don't want to listen too loudly. However it would be easy enough to overwhelm the amp in a large-ish room if you wanted to listen loudly. Something more like the Devore 0/93 or 0/96 would work better. Stay at 90db+ sensitivity with your speakers (if not a large room) and you should be good. A great deal depends on how you listen. I drove a pair of Focal 1008Be IIs with 10wpc and it was terrific. But, I listen in the near-field (at about 7') and rarely above 80db level.

The new E-650 is still only 30wpc/60wpc/120wpc at 8/4/2 ohms. The Yamaha NS-5000 (no longer Be tweeter or mid-range driver, as were the predecessors) and has a stated 'nominal' amp power of 200wpc. Might only be a 'match made in heaven' when listening either in the near-field or at lower sound levels or both.
