Default Montreal HiFi Show - March 31-April 3

It's getting close to that time of year again. The Salon Son & Image show in Montreal will soon be upon us. Have any AAers been to past SSI? Anyone plan to go this year?

SSI has long been my favorite show at which to exhibit. Perhaps not as broadband exotic as RMAF, but lots of good stuff to hear. Plus you get to spend a few days in Montreal, one of North America's greatest cities. It's not only Canada, it's a little piece of Europe too.

Can't speak for other exhibitors, but I do know that Sonor Filtronique will be playing a pair of Sonus faber Amati Futura in their suite, likely driven by ARC Reference gear or perhaps a surprise new line. Close by, Fidelio Audio will be playing a pair of Strads, at last discussion with Rene, on Nagra and DCS gear.

For you Wilson fans, PMcG usually holds court in a stellar sounding room with VTL set up by the folks from Coup de foudre. He's always got a great new recording or two to check out.

I'll be hanging out with the Sonor guys and with Rene at Fidelio during the show. I'd love to meet any AAers who come up. Unlike CES, it's pretty easy to get together for a drink since everything is in one hotel.

Hope to see some of you there. BTW, march 31 is a trade only day. The show opens to the public on the 1st.

We'll have a room there as well, and will be featuring Burmester gear in our room, so if you are there, please stop by and say hello!

Jeff do you have a room number yet? You're exhibiting as opposed to covering?

There is a completely different vibe at the Montreal Show compared to their south of the border counterparts. A good analogy might be to think of Montreal as AA and the American shows as more like some of the other message boards out there.

It's worth the trip.

I've been to the SSI a couple of times in the past. Certainly an Audio/Video show worth attending if you're in the area.

Given that Montreal is my home town I can certainly vouch for the friendly appeal and the european atmosphere.

Default Montréal Audio Show

Yes, I will definitely be attending the Montréal Salon Son et Image.

It's their 24th anniversary and I didn't miss one year.

The first Audio Show I attended in Montréal was with my dad in 1970 or 71 (Emerson, Lake & Palmer first LP was playing everywhere on Bose 901 Speakers).

It was at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel on Dorchester Boulevard (now René-Lévesque).

I will attend the show as a guess and I would be delighted to shake hands with AA members.

Please indicate where we can meet (room #).

Hoping to meet you there.
