When I get down to Woolcotsville, NY I do enjoy plugging a few clays. A friend down there has an nice collection of Baretta and Benelli shotguns.

Turned out to be a great day today. A few stations had some 'interesting' wind, but mostly sunny and mild, so a good time. Managed to hit 65 at Red Wing. Need some work to get a consistent 75.

Great day today. Mid 50's and 12mph breeze. Shot at Red Wing again with a neighbor and his two 16 year-old grandsons. Great kids and they each had a string of 17/25, so they are looking forward to shooting again. Managed a 76, which was great fun.

Finally our schedules aligned and I was able to get out to smoke some clays with my son. It's been a few years.... Beautiful sunny day and I was happy to spend a few hours shooting clays and trying out my 12 gauge Beretta Silver Pigeon O/U that my son gave me for my birthday 2 years ago! He brought his Beretta Teknys sporting in 12. We usually go visit a shooting farm that has been around since 1914 that's nearby. A nice, relaxed atmosphere and all the amenities for shotgun, rifle and pistol shooters.

The Silver Pigeon shoots very nice, I like the O/U in general but I also enjoyed shooting the softer shooting gas Teknys. I guess I am getting older... The recoil of the O/U is just not as pleasant as it used to be.... Or maybe I'm just rusty from not shooting for a few years.

I've almost forgotten how much fun shotgunning can be!

It is great to get out and shoot with the younger folks. My 11yr-old nephew, who is quite tall for his age, just got one of the youth model Weatherby 20ga semi-autos and hit 34/100 this past weekend. He shoots with his mother, as his father isn't interested. Looking forward to shooting with them this summer.

I've given up shooting anything but a 20ga for clays. With the gun being 2 pounds lighter and considerably milder on recoil, it makes a big difference over a 100 bird course. Am thinking about picking up a 28ga/410 small frame O/U for next season. Almost another pound lighter and definitely more challenging to hit clays with (not that the 20 isn't challenging enough )

Is Atglen open every Sunday or just every 3rd Sunday? May have to drop up there one of these days.

Glenn, Atglen shoots on the 'odd' Sundays of the month (1st, 3rd and 5th)

I seem to be stuck at ~75 and would like to break-thru the 80 barrier and am thinking a lesson can't hurt.
I missed this post Glenn. I'd be interested as would my son. Let's try to get a group together.

Hmmm......... if our Shippensburg match on Saturday gets rained out (still looking iffy) then shooting at Atglen may be a possibility.

Am still interested, but my schedule is pretty jammed with matches on the weekends now that the season has opened for most disciplines. Are you & your son available on weekdays with enough notice?
