Default Accuphase T1000 Tuner

Anyone care to share their experience with this tuner?

Through a stroke of luck, I think one is on the way to me. Problem is I already had the Magnum Dynalab MD90 entry level tuner which is doing very fine, given the number (2) of channels I am listening to.

Also, to replace, it would be a little out of place on the 'color scheme" of things as the Accuphase is champagne gold in color while the rest are either black or graphite which the current Magnum MD90 blends in well.

Nagging question: Replace the MD90 with the T1000 or ..... keep both? I am torn between the 2.

Any advise?

Yep, the T1000 is a beauty...but then I really can't remember any Accuphase product that wasn't!

Well, the Luxman T110U is a 110v units and as such, need a transformer in order to play here. Thats a no-no as its extra space and cable needed.

S$6k is a bargain considering the local agent price for a MR88 is a good S$9k. What I am afraid is that this may spark off the itch in me to go look for the matching Accuphase DP800 CD/SACD Transport & the matching DC801 DAC/Pre and a set of M8000 Mono Power Amplifiers. If so, I might just want to pull the plug on the Sooloos purchase. Hmmmm, suddenly, I am thinking like Howie's now.

Of course, the best plan is to sell off the MD90 if and when a reasonable offer comes.

I will be collecting the unit this Saturday and hopefully, by Sun morning, I can snap some pictures to share how my new setup looks like with this inserted and out goes the Magnum Dynalab.

Cheers!

Jerry, why do you need amps if your speakers are active? Unless you are planning on changing them?

My heart goes about 200 beats per second when I see Accuphase gear.

Very nice.

Chuck
You are correct, they do get you staring.

One dealer I was speaking with suggested that the Accuphase Mono's drive MBL gear much better than Mac.

Chuck, it will surely kill you when the full Accuphase DP800+DC801+T1000+M8000x2 combined together is in your view!

If like that, I better not invite you to my house should one day I really made this happen. Dont want your heart to beat 10000 beats per sec.

Just joking. If you do visit this part of the world, give me a call.

Serge .... I wrote .... "Hmmmm, suddenly, I am thinking like Howie's now."

Seriously, I am still very much in love with the Meridian setup. The Accuphase Tuner happen to pop by as a result of my initial inquiry - which I did not confirm - between owning the Magnum and the Accuphase. In the end, I chose Magnum due to cost vs usage plus local agent (close friend of mine - like 27 years already since we were in the 20's) did not come back with a quote. Never knew he brought it in without letting me know the cost.

Oh well, maybe one day, ... just that one day

At the moment, thinking what should I do with the Magnum ... hmmm

Jerry,

Wow, talk abut coincidence! Let's say you happened to be having dinner with a fellow AAer this Saturday and he had no tuner, had no wish to buy one, but had room in his suitcase for one and liked Magnum Dynalab.

Well that would really be the Gods talking to you loud and clear!

So should I make space on my rack??!!
