Howie...also remember they have the large Teflon caps like in the Ref Anniversary preamp and ARC recommends 600 hours of break-in. The units are just now making it to dealers, so make sure they have appropriate break-in on the units before you listen to them critically. They should have a digital read out somewhere inside the chassis that tracks tube time usage. You should ask the dealer before you audition them again.

Good Morning, all:
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Greg, and I'm an addict... I have been reading AA for quite a while, but couldn't get up the courage to speak up.

It's hard to admit that you have a problem, especially when you don't think that you do. It's only when family members point out your behaviour that you realize that you need professional help.

I have had over 700 pieces of equipment over 43 years of playing with tubes, building speakers, designing theaters and generally having a blast...

My latest descent into insanity?

The Ref 250s were ordered today...

I need therapy...

Greg

Hi Greg,

I am also a newbie here. It looks like we are on the same boat: my Reference 250's were ordered on Monday. They should be a big upgrade from my current amp (a VT130SE).

The rest of my system is as follows: EMMLabs CDSD/DAC 6e, ARC Reference 2 Mk.II, Genesis V, Nordost Valkyrja IC's, Cardas Golden Cross speaker cables, Shunyata power cords, Shunyata Hydra and Equi=Tech 10WQ power treatment.

The Ref 250's should be shipped to the dealer at the end of the month, but unfortunately I will be on a trip the first week of September and so I will not be able to take delivery until the second week of September.
