These are my first set of real speakers that I bought separately. I did have a pair when I was in the Navy in the late 60's, that came with a cassette tape player made by Ampex, I believe. I bought these Nova 6 speakers at Radio Shack where my friend worked in the mid 70's. When I moved to my first apartment, I left them for my Dad, as he liked to play his Frank Sinatra records. When they remodeled, they didn't fit my Mom's décor and I got them back. I used them off and on along with a pair of Sansui speakers until I bought a pair of Paradigm Monitor 9's in the mid 90's. They're still in the basement.

My very first speakers were Pioneer CS-66 purchased at the Navy Exchange in Yokosuka, Japan. I didn't keep them very long once I was back in the USA. I replaced them with a pair of Altec Voice of the Theater speakers.

University 312 triaxials (which included the Sphericon tweeter) in DIY enclosures. Unfortunately long gone. Succeeded by a pair of Altec Lansing 416 woofer/806A-811B tweeter systems in DIY cabinets. Also long gone.

My Marantz Model 6G

Description from a Japanese Site

"The bass-reflex type speaker system of two ways.

A 25cm cone type unit is adopted as low-pass.
It applies to an edge part from the perimeter part of a cone, the coating by a special elastic agent is given, and distortion applied to an important mid range on Hearing impression is pressed down.

A 4.5cm cone type unit is adopted as a high region.
A mechanical noise is disliked for an edge material, and neither paper nor cloth is used for it, but it has become the edgeless type directly connected with the frame with the thin film of the elastic agent coated on cone paper."

My first speakers were Mission M3S, which I gave up to my friend when moved to new place. Those were awesome

Bought my 805Matrix 19 years ago with 50% of my entire summer's earnings! Upgraded everything else, these little ones have really held up. I know there is a step change waiting - I've been searching - but haven't found the perfect pair to love.

Mine were the CS-A700 I bought in 74 in MD. I forgot what they cost but I remember it took me a while to save up since I was making a $1.75/hr. Coincidentally, my last pair of speakers are in crates in my garage. Tomorrow I will put the Magico S5 into my system. The Pioneers are also in the garage.

JBL ARC 50's. Unfortunately I blew them with an underpowered receiver, they sounded pretty good.

My first speakers were Large Advents driven by a Mc integrated (MA5400?). Front end was a Thorens TD125 mark2 with an SME arm and a Shure V15 cartridge. Circa 1970.

Audio heaven. Wow I used to play it loud.

Avid 103s (I think, my memory is going, but I think these were the first speakers I actually bought - rather than scrounged or had handed down).
