Hello aficionados
Recently I had the opportunity to buy a pair of mint Yvette speakers so I did. I have always liked their form factor and sound even though never listen for any length of time because they were out of my price range. I set them up next to my B&W 803 D3 and started listening . To be honest, I was not expecting to like the sound as much. I immediately notice less brightness but plenty of detail in the high frequencies. The bass is phenomenal and natural, definitely better. Impressive considering that is one bass driver vs two on the 803's. The soundstage is excellent, warmer and larger. It feels as if you are in a small venue listening to live music. I know this is an unfair comparison based on price point, but now I am wonder how the 802 D3 or D4 for that matter would compare. I have always been a B&W fan, so I guess it is hard to move on. Can you share any experiences. Thanks in advance!!

The question that some of us are asking is, will there be an Yvette II or is the current model the last/only Wilson between the Sabrina and the Sasha. There are definitely some strong competitive offerings in the Yvette price range.

… as mentioned in the other thread, I am on the verge of finally jumping from B&W 802 Diamonds D2 to Wilson. I heard the SabrinaX and liked its tonal balance a lot but thought it was lacking a little bottom end.
I now have a really good offer on the Yvette. It`s supposed to have more slam and bottom end and although I am aware that some think the SabrinaX is better, I find many still prefering the Yvette, especially for that extra slam and bass. Supposed to sound more „grown up“. Any thoughts on Yvette - specifically? The Sasha DAW are certainly another league - but thats a huge leap financially - I keep asking myself, will the Yvette be such an improvement over the 802s that it will leave me happy for years or will it leave me wondering if I should have gone up to the DAW within a few weeks… what do you think? It will be my first Wilson.

Of course, I have no inside knowledge of an impending upgrade of the Yvette. YMMV. It seems that there is a 5-year life cycle for Wilson speakers - e.g. Sasha v1 to Sasha v2 to DAW. Similarly, the Alexia v1 came out in 2012 and the Alexia v2 in 2017. New Alexia 2 replacement soon, it's rumored. The Yvettes came out in 2016, so anyone's guess about a new model.

Wilson Yvettes are amazing speakers. If you can get a good deal pull the trigger, you won't regret it. I want to get the Sasha DAW because they have the latest and greatest but the financial leap is substantial. I don't have any attraction towards the SabrinaX because I am certain the Yvettes have an effortless bigger presence sound wise and physically.
