If you are looking for a very small, robust, no hassle streamer that supports Tidal and Qobuz...I can recommend the Limetree Bridge.
I use it in my Headphone setup and it is a great piece of kit. https://lindemann-audio.de/products/...ridge/?lang=en Last edited by JemHadar; 11-22-2020 at 04:21 PM. |

Thanks, Bart and Serge. I had assumed that by using the Node with an outboard DAC that it would be as good as the streamer in the Mac or pretty much anyplace else. Your posts will at least nudge me to consider a high streamer

Sure, streaming should definitely be a well sorted out piece of the system but I would not go crazy either. I use Bryston BDP pi which keeps me happy. Like I said, I can't tell a significant or meaningful enough difference between SACD and streaming through the same SACD player/DAC. There are many different ways to go with this.

Tony, I've seen (many) albums disappear from Tidal, but not yet from Qobuz. What I did see is that high res albums were replaced by 16/44.1 for a while... and then they reappeared in a sometimes even higher resolution. I have quite a nice collection of SACDs, CDs, BD-audio and DVD-As. For now I'm keeping them although I play them less and less often except for the multichannel ones.

+1 this...
I'm ok with Tidal and MQA, but uncompressed hi-res finds on Qobuz are like striking gold for me. |

There is also the Limetree Network...featuring a DAC and headphone amp...but I have no experience with that one. |

Nope, I need my tubes for this project.

Jacques, I see they also offer a Limetree Network Player (DAC and headphone amp included) for 900€. Have you heard it?

Streaming Tidal or Spotify ?

No...as I did not require a DAC and headphone amp. FYI...the headphone amp of the Weiss DAC202 is rather good...however I now added the Sugden Masterclass HA-4. This discrete class A biased amp just adds a little more body. When I get around to it, I will post a separate thread...don’t want to high jack this one.
