C47 Crackling

Recently after 1 year at different times I hear crackling from C47. Tends to go away after a factory reset. Any members encounter issues with C47?

Firmware version is the earliest 1.00. Is it advisable to update? Thx

I would do a update first. And if your able to do a backup of the file first. Also read about the new updates and most of the time it tells you what the updates will do or what it will correct in The system

Unplugged everything from C47, did a factory reset, reconnected all interconnects and also reset streamer. CD’s and Tidal seem to be playing like I remember. My dealer said that if this did not work to bring in and they would update software. 🤞

Be sure they or you put dielectric grease in any of the plugs. That will keep moisture and water out and keep the connectors from corrosion

i have a silly question - and I had no idea we could update the firmware or that it was even necessary - how do we do this on our own? And does it matter if I rarely use it for digital playback (I'm 75% vinyl)?

Dielectric grease in an audio plug? Hmmmm, that doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

I use it in all my plugs for any of my car audio or any type of connections that will be outside or in high humidity. That’s what the stuff is made for. It will keep the contacts from getting any corrosion or moisture in it

If it works in a 100k plus cars ecu and not harm anything. It will work just find for any electrical connection caring any type of signal where there is DC or AC
