Final thoughts on MC1.25KW pics posted
Here are the pics. I didn't know if I would have the funds to finish. I felt the least critical of all the upgrades would be the Thor cables. I took AQ's recommendations which were based on all the new AQ cables already purchased. So rather than the Mythical Creature Firebird Bass they recommended the Tree Redwood 3m. Also a Wolf balanced 7m IC and Hurricane HC 3m pc. Going from a 601 to a 1.25KW was definitely the biggest improvement. The 601 I would give about a C but the 1.25 I would give an A. The 601 simply wasn't a big enough amp. I can't fault the 1.25KW. There is a smoothness and liquidity to my sound now. The sound is relaxed and comes from an incredibly black quiet background. There is a wonderful clarity and transparency to it. Dynamics are just unreal. I think a lot of what I am hearing are these topline AQ cables which just provide incredible detail, clarity, and transparency without any harshness or added brightness.
The last pic is my old Kimber Kables and power cord. I said to myself I'd never part with these but the pull of an all Wilson, Mac, AQ system was simply to much to resist. I can't say I have a favorite in this last batch of cables but this Redwood cable is something else. It's made just like my Well Signatures but is 6 silver plus 10 copper strands. It's very beautiful but so is the Wolf IC. Last edited by Charles; 11-12-2018 at 02:11 AM. |

Charles-
The 1.25's are incredible! Smooth and Dynamic as you said. They are "voiced" to be sweeter in the mid/high range compared to the 600 series. This gives a similar sound signature to the 275 amp. Enjoy those beasts!
