Great analogies - especially the second day Gumbo!

Hands down, second day Gumbo is the best. No need to look any farther.

Wonderful comments fellas. Thank you. Spoke to a dealer -they don't have BUT can get. So if I go forward more than likely will be a blind purchase.

Back to the nice food analogy.

So the 601's might make the CLX speakers dig a little deeper on bass. Little more dynamic. "Front row thing" BUT while the CLX is a full range electrostatic they are crossing over to the subs for the heavy lifting. Martin Logan has a special crossover setting and download file for this combo. Works great.

So I am thinking if I had true bass drivers maybe a SS amp might give more oomph.

But with powered subs, may be less of an issue. I love some old rock for sure but the majority of my listening is a tad more laid back. Acoustic, female voices, film scores, but then I like to crank it with some 1970's BAD COMPANY

I apologize for kind of hijacking the 2301 owners club thread.

Last thing & I'm out until I am a owner

Spoke to Chuck at McIntosh. Super nice. Said right when the CLX came out and then the 2301's; Martin Logan actually requested to use the 2301's at various shows.

Well. Some of you know I found an excellent barely used Demo pair of the 2301's last fall and the Store Owner was gracious enough to let me pay a layaway since the buyer for my 601's wouldn't be ready til late Spring.

...that said...

PAID IN FULL as of today.

BOOM. Yeah I am pretty excited. And I have freaking loved the MC601's. Truly have. They have been wonderful with the Martin Logan CLX electrostatics.

And honestly I really have no preset feelings of how these will sound in my room other than the massive positive reviews there have been online here and other forums.

So there it is. I am officially a member of this thread Might take a week or so for these beasts to arrive.

I know we all love pictures so count on that soon as well.
