Other than a replaceable DAC and fancy heat sink what other actual improvements are over the previous generation?

It's evolution not revolution. I read some improvement to components so you don't have to wait for a warm up period to hear the best the amp. Has to offer. Very cool component

I believe the DAC is significantly better than in the MA8000.

That's likely just a marketing re-write to appear 'new' for the ThermalTrak transistors which Mc have been using since around 2008.

Apparently, some users are linking via PhotoBucket. I get a place holding image with a message about updating my account to enable 3rd party hosting.

Obviously, I'm missing something here. What is it? (I don't use PhotoBucket.)

If you saw it in my sig, it's because Photobucket is now requiring paid memberships in order to post images on other sites. As you can see, I fixed that.
