Hi AudioAficionado, hi Jerome,

My first post here.

Jerome, may I know the distance between your M40.1's? As I see in the picture, from the side wall I believe is around half a meter.

About a week ago I just bought a pair of the Harbeth M40.1, mint condition (in fact was a demo model from a danish dealer). I'm bankrupt right now, and I have to wait many months 'till recovery. I have a "joke" of stands and no sort of feet. But the PAB products looks gorgeous.

As like you Jerome, I bought the Harbeth's with my eyes (ears?) closed. I heard before the Super HL5+, and really like it. For sure, you need a lot of work and adjustments with the big brothers, but finally you could reach the Heaven. Hope so, at least!

Thanks for your hospitality!

Stefan, Belgium.

Hello Stefan,

Welcome to AA !
The left speaker back left corner is about 50 cm from the side wall, the front left corner is 67 cm.
Those dimensions are 67 and 77 cm for the right speaker. So yes they are non symmetrical. I believe that this is better against standing waves.
Distance between speakers is 2 meters, measured from the front baffle.
Enjoy your 40.1 ! They are stunning but yes, their bass craves for decent isolation.

Thanks to all,

I read a lot about the room you need for the big Harbeth's. So, my room is 7.6 x 4 x 2.7 (25 x 13 x 8.8). If it was a little bit wider...pretty decent finally.

Only 2 years ago I started this adventure (audiophile). Man oh man, it's like a drug!

Stefan.

Hi Jerome,

Sorry for disturbing you again, but I have no option.

I don't know if you still have the Manley Snapper's, but you tried them with the M40.1?
I'm really surprised after you say how the old and "weak" MC225 do a better job than Shindo mono's. This is unbelievable!

Merci beaucoup,
Stefan.
