Yup looking forward. As I discussed with you at the beginning of my journey, I had in fact gotten rid of another solid preamp and went to a direct connection from the Oppo to the McIntosh amp because I truly could not detect a difference. I had come to the conclusion that a preamp was not necessary and could only color the sound. It was not until I tested my neighbor's Canadian preamp from the 80's (i forget the company's name, small company, noisy as heck, but still) that I heard what a preamp could do! I then went with the JC Verdier Control B with separate power supply and wow! Huge soundstage, micro dynamics, 3D...many buzzwords suddenly started to make sense to me to some extent or another. Now, I know Shindo does not go after these kind of buzzwords, but rather in the ability to actually enjoy the music. I'm sure the Masseto will only extend the pleasure I'm already deriving my from trusty JC Verdier Control B unit (and I actually enjoyed this unit so much, I also bought the upgraded Control B Evolution too, which sounds even better!). Corny, I know, but its weird to rediscover the music. As it is, I have been blown away with the level of musical details by the likes of Vangelis and Kitaro. I thought I knew those recordings well as I wore out the grooves on my vinyl copies in college, but I was happy to be proven wrong...
