Default 805 and stands

For those of you with B&W 805 plus proprietary stands, did you add any sand/litter to the stands to add mass? Thank you in advance for replies.

I added sand. Very easy to do, available at hardware stores and garden centers in 40 lb bag. I did not compare before and after, but it's recommended by B&W and it seems obvious that it should help.

I had the N805 with the Stands and it was VERY easy to fill in some sand, before installing the Speaker.
And yes - Sand is more than highly recommended.

Dealer is checking with distributor since it is his first set of Prestige Series he has sold. I expect at least 2 - 3 weeks.

Sand it is then. I was not able to add sand to the stands for my Sonus faber Auditor Ms. They perform very well without it.

It will be an interesting comparison between the 805D3 and the Sonos harbor Cromona audit tour speakers (that’s Iphone speak for Sonus Faber Cremona Auditor speakers... hehehe)

pretty much same price retail - Sf CremAudMs plus stands $7000; B&W 805D3 plus stands $7000 (+$1K for the upgraded Santos Rosewood finish). Depending upon the outcome the B&W may move upstairs.

B&W 805D3 + DB2 vs Sf Cremona Auditor Ms + REL B3

Will one 40lb bag of sand be sufficient for both stands?
