This is a topic that on most car forums generates more antagonistic responses than almost anything else. Let me just say this - I have Valentine 1's for each of my vehicles. I also have an Escort 9500ci custom installed in my 997 C2S and a Redline for use in any of my vehicles. The Redline has been sitting on a table in my study for the last two months. The other Escorts with GPS can provide warnings about redlight cameras and can "lock out" locations with stationary, non-police radar. Therefore, I use the 9500ci in conjunction with the V1 in my C2S.

The Redline has very good range, but I find it to be no better than that of the V1. In addition, once you have become accustomed to the directional arrows on the V1, it will be hard to settle for just a warning.

Obviously, your mileage may vary. Also, none of these will help if you are alone on the road and get hit with instant on. Ask me how I know this from my recent trip.

Arrows... Does it matter which direction it is coming from? Are you not going to slow down whether it is left, right, ahead or behind? I know I am...

I use a Scanner Jammer which is a mobile platform produced by Loratus Manufacturing and used by the Rebel Alliance during the early stages of the Galactic Civil War.
The Scanner Jammer was designed with a variety of countermeasures to disrupt and jam enemy scanners and sensors. It also served as an effective intelligence-gathering device, with a secondary ability to scan any part of the battlefield for a few moments.

If it worked for the Millenium Falcon I think it's good enough for my Audi Q7

After years of playing the Radar Detector gambit.... V1. The best, directional arrows of bogey and number of 'targets' too. Seriously, get the V1 guys.

Lu. Coming north on the Sawgrass, I start getting the alerts for the speed warning signs (which are located close to the big bend) from Commercial Blvd.

That must be 3-5 miles.

I have the Escort 9500ci with the Binder Laser Jammers on my X6M...I have the radar antennae mounted up high and am getting great performance.

I love V1s, but it doesn't help me if I don't have it on the windshield and plugged in. The Escort is on whenever I turn on the car, is stealth, and with the GPS it doesn't go off every day at the Safeway when you drive by...

I considered the escort 9500 but my new 8500 does a great job, this is my second one over 8 years. The 8 year old one was sent back for the new one to get the improvements made.
