Shunyata Research unveils new methodology to measure differences between power cords
For two decades, audio aficionados have wondered why a power cord should make so profound a difference in the quality of sound in their systems. We have all heard the arguments against:
- AC is AC ... - the last 5 feet of power cord in system after many, many feet of in-wall and external power coming into the house from a pole should make no appreciable difference... - why would AC quality matter when the first thing most components do is to convert AC to DC and then store the energy in capacitors... Caelin Gabriel, chief scientist at Shunyata Research, since existing measurements did not adequately explain the whys and wherefores, has come up with some NEW measurements that begin to explain the differences in a way that is clear and unambiguous. Caelin worked with a design engineer of a major electronics testing manufacturer to develop the DTCT Analyzer - short for Dynamic Transient Current Delivery Analyzer. This device provides meaningful measurements for power delivery differences that can help to explain the phenomena that we all hear, but up to now, have been unable to measure...... Interesting !!!

That seems quite reasonable to me. Throughout my carreer there have been instances where measurements had to be done in the current domain.
