For the time being I am staying with the Transparent Powerlink MM2x. I A/B'd them against Alpha HC's and found no reason to change. I am not willing to go to ~$7K for a pair of Simga HC's.

Thanks for the heads up. I will use a adaptor and them swap my female end if I like what I hear.

Good luck. I hope it works out. I agree the extra power cord is an unpleasant expense, which is why I refer to the power cord, Cyclops, power cord combination as my 3.5 meter $8,600 power cord.

It would be nice if Shunyata could build it into a single cord. Of course, then it would look like an Anaconda swallowed a pig.

Interested how this turns out. When I was contemplating Shunyata, I asked CG about mixing my Transparent power cords with his power conditioners. He advised to use his cords between wall and conditioners and then whatever I want on the conditioner outputs.

This is the point I would like to consider because of the potential and likely synergy between the main power cord from the wall and the conditioner due to the specific approach of Shunyata products.

May be Jim will be able to make a comparison between an Alpha HC and a Reference Powerlink MM2x between the wall outlet and the Cyclops v2 in a few days...

I just received notification from a dealer that my Cyclops V2 order cannot be filled as they are being replaced by the AMP-1.

I tried calling Shunyata offices just a few minutes ago but the individual who answered indicated no one (Richard?) was available today to answer my questions.

Hi Jim,

I'm guessing you are Wilfred's customer. I did trade e-mail with Wilfred about this. No, the Amp-1 is not a replacement for the Cyclops v2, it is a less expensive but still high-performance option. We are currently out of the Cyclops chassis and have had some issues with accessibility that we are attempting to resolve. I was offering the Amp-1 as a high-quality, less expensive option, not as a replacement. If you care to call, either Richard or I should be available.

Thanks,

Grant

Thanks. I received additional information from Caelin via e-mail late last night and will respond this morning.

Not sure who Wilfred is.

Apologies, Jim, I am talking to one of our distributors about the Amp-1 for a customer with two sets of mono-blocks and thought this paralleled that circumstance. Feel free to let me know if we can be of further help.

Regards,

Grant
