I guess we all hear a bit different. I've always found the JM Labs to be less forgiving... My dealer employee owns JM Labs and he is switching to Wilson when he can. Sasha and a warmer sounding amp like MX-R is pure honey on the ears and I've spent enough time with that combo with various quality recordings.

I think all speakers have their strengths and weaknesses (however small). With the latest changes Wilson made in creating the Sasha's I think that at that price point they have better bass and a less congested mid-range than the Focals. That said I am not sure if anyone makes a speaker that does piano more realistically that the Utopia line.

Now if you were to pit the top of the line Wilson's and Focal's price be damned, that would be fun and very amp dependent.

Jim, I've spent time in front of Alexandria x2v2's. Yes, piano recordings as well. I've never been able to find fault with them other than a slightly cooler overall presentation when partnered with Krell but even that pairing had something to offer that not many other speakers can. Shockingly convincing, shockingly dynamic and shockingly large scale of sound in an appropriate sized room.

I have not however heard the Utopia line but if I was shopping for a large speaker, those two would be interesting to compare indeed.

Serge,
I was talking about the Utopia line, not the regular JMlab...

I've heard JM Labs a few times, both the entry level ones to the higher Utopia line. I find their sound very smooth and refine but when the recordings are not so good, its a bit bright and thin sounding.
