And it is no slouch in terms of midrange and treble from all that I have read. So I think you have to be careful not to compare apples with oranges and stick to the more meaningful comparison of the W/P series to the Sasha, IMHO.

Ok so trponhunter did stray off topic. As for meaningful comparisons, he is certainly one whose professional experience suggests he knows volumes about which he speaks.

I jst re read my response to a previous poster - and I basically just agreed with him. I think my response is accurate and appropriate. Certainly don't mean to de rail, apologies to anyone that thinks I was - but I would stand by my comments - I beleive them to be accurate - especially in response to the prevois post which I was responding to.

Mark my only point was that your experience with WP models and Maxx models over your career provides far more meaningful comparisons than reviews or hearsay.

Thank you, Bill. My response was really more to Charles, not you. I just thought my straying was really only limited to responindg to the previous poster. Anyway, the W/P has certinly had quite an evolution over the years and I'll continue to try to contribute factual , meaningful info when I can.

Did not mean to stray either----just to emphasize how remarkable Sasha is for the price and IMHO how much of an advancement it was over WP8. The midrange, treble and cohesiveness of the Sasha is extraordinary as is the low end for a speaker of its dimensions. Hence reference to the Maxx 1 and 2 as a point of comparison. I personally preferred the Maxx 1 and 2 over any prior iteration of the WP series.

I find the Wilson forum to be the one of the most objective if not the most objective and informative on the whole website. I wish more folks would chime in.

I was recently in my dealer's showroom where the Sasha's and Sophia'a constantly reside. When I was there (I hadn't been there for awhile) I was struck with just how much more massive the MAXXes were than the Sasha's and I remember making the spontaneous comment (to my dealer), "They (the Sasha's) look like babies compared to the MAXXes." That's all I meant, not that trpo was straying from the topic. There's just so much difference in the size of the speakers that I have a hard time getting my head around the disparity. If folks recall I had great concerns over the size issue regarding the MAXXes in my room. I can certainly believe that in plenty of rooms the Sasha's would best the MAXXes. However, I would very much like to hear more concerning Watts of all generations vs. Sasha's and also Sophia's vs. Watts and Sasha's

On comparing models:

Wilson Audio WP 6, with upgraded bass woofers to WP 8?

I'm considering a pair of used WP6 which has been modified to WP8 - only the bass drivers appearently.

I was going to audition them next week, but wanted to get opinions on this modification and possibly also some advice on the WP6 model. They are in black, which is the color I wanted and the price seems reasonable as well.

Regards
Claus
