Default MT10 Illuminated Speed Meter Incorrect

One thing to check: under the platter on the base of the table there is an optical sensor, and an optical “ring” on the underside of the platter. Both are covered with a protective film as shipped. Make sure these two pieces of film are removed.

Otherwise, as others have suggested, since it’s brand new and under warranty, I wouldn’t try messing with any settings, just get your dealer involved right away.

Michael.......Very good response from your dealer and McIntosh. That's how it should always be done.

I agree Dan............they said I can use this one till the replacement arrives..............so far the MT10 sounds amazing to me. Certainly an upgrade over the MT 5 I had.

Spending a small fortune for a new product that malfunctions is certainly disappointing and very upsetting.

People also tend to report troubles as opposed to praise, just like the news media. Manufacturers should always work on improving QC though.

I wonder if Mc even opens the box when it arrives from Germany. Or do they have to mount the faceplate in Binghamton? This may be a Clearaudio QA issue.

Back in 2003 I bought an MCD205 changer and two days after I got it it jammed, couldn't get the five CD's out of it. Took it to the dealer who extracted the discs and they ordered a new unit, they didn't even want to start repairing it. I'm sure it went back to Binghamton where they fixed the issue and repacked it for resale. It happens.
