Default MT10 Illuminated Speed Meter Incorrect

Ok so I have my MT10 all setup, but for some reason the illuminated Speed Meter does not show the correct speed ........ in fact when I am playing 33 the illuminated speed meter needle barely get past the 0. Has the ever happened to anyone straight out of the box or later on?
When the LP is playing it sounds great, but the speed meter needle is way off

I’ve included a pic of what it looks like

Agree. Call your dealer tomorrow. This should not happen. There is a “fine speed adjustment” on the back of the MT10 but this problem is not a fine speed adjustment.

If you switch the speed to 45 or 78, does the meter move at all?

Oh Man THis is heartbreaking ....I just got it

The manual says there's a little screwdriver thing on the back panel: "Fine speed adjustments for 33-1/3, 45 and 78 rpm. These Adjustments require special test records and precision measurement equipment to accurately set the speeds. Contact your McIntosh Dealer for assistance."

I wonder if I gently adjusted these if it would "Kick the needles In gear"?

Yes the Meter moves , but only very little more but still not even 33 when switched to 45

I assume McIntosh don't have schematics available. As the turntable is operating I'd guess it would something like the failure of a meter 'driver' circuit or similiar.

I should add, don't adjust any presets. Nothing aggravates repair technicians more than having to realign presets that may not even have any relevance to the original fault.

Don't know the circuit but is there a sensor that reads the speed? It may be misaligned or blocked. Was thinking that if you can move from 33rpm to say 45rpm and it sounds ok, a sensor sounds like the problem.

I was trying to understand if you can play 33rpm records and 45rpm records and they sound ok. If they sound ok, it is the monitoring circuit that is not working therefore the "speed sensor" may be blocked or broken. Hope that helps clarifies what I was suggesting.
