Hello every one.
My name is An. I was from AK "123acoustic". I just found out a lot of you been hanging out here. I don't need to know what is the reason you guys hang out here now. But wait.... it is for the love of music and McIntosh. I know I am proud to be a McIntosh owner and join you guys here.

Default The Devious World of Audio Addiction...

Well, I have to say that audio related discussion forums keep popping up ALL OVER THE PLACE...

I mean, there is that "no attitude" site (from whence I've come to here..., and referred to here by someone via PM who appears to have been promptly banned), then there is that site purely dedicated to tape (although they talk about other stuff as well) started by a dude who apparently had too much attitude for the masters of "no attitude..."

...and now this place, "Audioholics Anonymous"..., oops!!! it's AudioAficionado, but if we're going to "affectionately" refer to it as AA then it should have some reference to addiction, no?

Well, perhaps when I get past my first 10 post scrutiny I will start a thread called "the 7 steps to having better gear" or "the 12 must have components".

In the meanwhile, here I am..., so HELLOOOO EVERYONE!!!!!!!

Hello to those of you who may recognize me from my expressions of "no attitude" elsewhere and Hello to all of you who don't yet know me...

I'm just your average middle aged fellow with some disposable income, a finished basement and an unfulfilled 1970s need to now own that gear I couldn't afford when I was a younger man, and an understanding wife (although she became convinced when I told her that my latent 1970s needs might have been related to any combination of drugs, women and alcohol, none of which sound an good. She said "OK!" as long as I keep it in the basement.

My audio drug of choice is Marantz (I go for the looks), seconded by my nascent foray into McIntosh (mostly I've been drawn into it by salivating over Masterlu's rig - but it looks like he has a bigger basement and more means to help his wife forgive him ).

I'm looking forward to being here and I'm hoping that having this site look exactly as the other one, I won't be confused and make anyone too Grumpy, lest I get banned.

so HELLOOOOO AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

Welcome "thisOne" you sure took your time..

I lost 3 life rafts trying to rescue you! You may find this to be the "Last Audio Frontier" you ever visit...

Since we spilled the same blood in the same mud, I cleared your 10 post scrutiny!

thisOne.......Man, you sure took your merry sweet time finding us. The vultures must have been picking up the bread crumb trail I left. I'm one of the banned ones, and damn proud of it. Looking forward to your input. Welcome to Audio Aficionado.

McNikontosh.......An, glad you're on board. One of the really great things Audio Aficionado offers is room for other high-end gear besides McIntosh. Needless to say, I'm a McNut, but there's plenty of folks here with some serious gear from other great manufacturers. We love to talk McIntosh, and speaking for myself, I am also very interested in Ayre, Lamm, Esoteric, Acoustic Research, and others, plus the many varied speakers that are embraced by our members.

Tell us about your system. How's the high end audio spirit in the upper northwest?
