I've always been perplexed by after market power cables and the claims for sonic improvements. In industrial applications where the wiring is in conduit and properly shielded and grounded I can understand the advantages. BUT!!!!!! residential wiring is not shielded. So noise can enter the wiring before the fancy/dandy power cord. Just make sure your power cable is a large enough gage to carry the current.

I have and did not find them to be note worthy. Interconnects and speaker cable are a completely different story.

Cheers: Tom D.

Here is what regarded cable company states about there power cables.... " been proven to dramatically reduce self-induced A.C. and signal reactance while also providing exceptional immunity to RFI/EMI noise components " .. Thinking that is tec jargon for reducing the noise floor and letting some of the hidden nuances of the recording reveal themselves, or a real good way to "sell" some cables.

I have moved up to a heavier gauge (stock) PC to my processor but I am going to try a well made PC today and hopefully I do not hear a difference so I can save some money

Just spent over a hour a/b testing a $1000 PC to the stock cord. I kept telling myself as I played the same passage over and over and switching the PC that the cables sound the same. Sadly they do not, the aftermarket cable has a softer midrange and is less forward. The background singers are clearer and the bass is tighter. The difference in the highs are a little less noticeable. That just cost me some money. Now I am going to take the HDSE's from under the processor and a/b test them under the PPP.

Furutec offers an alternative to purchasing expensive power cords. They offer complete cords or sell all the components so you can build your own. My hunch, and it's only a hunch, is any improvement in sound is due to better connection, the contacts are usually gold or roduim and grip more tightly. I would perfer a high quality shielded cord that is soldered eliminating the need for the IEC connector.

Tried Furutech EVO power cord, it has more definition than the stock cord, also better dynamics. With Tara Labs The One AC, it further brings about added space and airiness. Both comparison done on EVO 402 amp.
