Sounds like fun. Am thinking mine may also be from 2002. Basic black. Understated elegance (though I would have gone for a "nice" color had they offered it).

Glenn, that is my only unfulfilled wish. That Jaguar Red is really nice. However, considering I got the unit for $1600 and then $1700 for the Ultimate package I am sitting pretty for sonics. I will be enjoying this unit for many years!

Indeed. Am really enjoying mine, again, after the Clarity recap. Keep thinking that I want to trade up to something like an Accuphase or Boulder or Ayre integrated, but after a short listen I can't really justify a change. If you haven't tried the reissue GL KT-88s, highly recommended.

Which V-Caps did you get? The 500 hour burn in is not a rumor.

Amen to that for the Clarity caps. However, well worth the wait. They replaced a set of oil/foil AmpOhms that were put in ~2010 and were a big step up in, wait for it................ clarity. Seriously, a great improvement, along with the Hexfreds and increasing the size of the filter caps in the power supply by 50%.

Heard from Steve Witek at Cary. He is putting together a list of the "Ultimate" upgrades that are available for the SLI-80. As I've got the new Clarity caps and Hexfreds, was wondering what is left. Will post once I've got the info.

OK...The SLI-80 Ultimate has returned to the building!

Here are a few Pics. Notice I no longer have Rectifier tubes. The Hexfreds take over that job. I need to give the VCaps a couple hundred hours to get burned in.

I added the Greyhill switch and the WBT's too. Full boat Ultimate upgrade.
