I have heard them powered by Soulution and they sounded very good. I also heard them powered by a underpowered GamuT and they did not sound good. In general, the last couple versions of Focal's Utopia line have always been some of my favorite speakers.

michael, i have owned the stella em now for a while and have close to 100o hours on them.initally , i used the gryphon coleseum monos to drive them, and replace the gryphons with the vac 450 statements. thse speakers need power to bring them to life, and to really extract that last 10% of perfromance.
previous pseakers included ,rockport(2) ,tidal, kharama(2), focal nova, focal g.u be...
the stella em to my ears is the most autentically musical transducer i have heard to date.just right on all accounts.

Michael.......The Absolute Sound thought the Focal Stella Utopia EM to be tremendous speakers, awarding them 2011 Product Of The Year Award in the Cost-No-Object category. $90,000 a pair is getting on up there, for sure. TAS stated that the Focal Stella Utopia EM is a world-class loudspeaker in every way.

I think Focal's Utopia series do piano as well or better than just about any speaker I have heard.

This was my question. The Kefs you own are world class speakers and the coaxial design provides some advantages over the design of the Focal speakers. Stereophile's Kef 207/2 review was very positive.

I am curious, what is it about the Kefs that leave you wanting? Or, are you just thinking about a change?
