24/88.2 files on Sooloos, anyone!

Hey Sooloos users:

Have any of you downloaded 24/88.2 files on your system yet? I've grabbed a few from HD Tracks, but they only playback as 24/44.1 files. (My dCS has a readout that tells what bit depth and resolution is playing)

Any help is appreciated.

I may just end up moving all high res files to the Naim HDX...

Have you gone to Device Manager and confirmed the the check box is not checked next to "Force 1x Output Sample Rate"? If it's checked, this will only allow playback at 44.1khz and 48khz, not 88.2khz or 96khz.

Well, it can't be that if 24/96 plays just fine. I'd be curious to see if the files give you a different reading on the Naim. If not, it could be another set of bad files on the HD Tracks site.

I know on the my Olive 4HD they once did an update and the 24/88 files would no longer play. (The 24/96, 24/176 and 24/192 still played) The next update corrected the issue.

Too much work to do tonight to screw around with it, but I have high hopes. This is the kind of thing HD Tracks needs more of to be successful.

I don't think it is an HD Tracks issue.

Hey Jeff, sorry it took me so long to confirm 24/88.2 playback. I thought someone would have answered this by now. I can confirm bit perfect playback at all sample rates (up to 24/96) from the Sooloos. I had to reprogram my DAC to give input and output Sample Rates.

I just saw this thread, also, and I can confirm that I can output 24/88.2 files from my High-Res Beatles albums directly to my MDA1000, which displays 88.2.

Hey John, the Beatles album that came in Hirez was 24/44.1 I think. Are you referring to another collection or maybe the up sampling by the Sooloos?

Also, very interested in hearing your comparison of the Speakerlink/AES to MS600 sonic quality. I'd get the MS600 if there is a benefit.
