Oh and did I mention, "the hummmm is gooonnnne...
so the answer was new improved panel upstairs run 6 gauge wire and install a new sub panel closer to outlets made all three runs same length from panel 10 gauge wire 20 amps each Clean power now and I don't even have a great conditioner hooked up now. My conditioner is one of the first prototypes made by running springs the Haley, Its purple is how I know it was first prototype and the haley isn't like a top of the line product for them it is more intro. I have no conditioning on amps now but will soon. I nearly put them in today while I had everything unplugged but I want the racks to take there coarse. |

Neal,
So how does the Beethoven sound? Is your better half kicking you out of the seat yet? You're always welcome to make the drive up here - I've got 2 seats in front of the speakers, although my better half may boot my behind out!

Ah man, more bad news, the hum and or noise is BACK. I noticed it last night after it had been playing for a while. I don't know if it is building up from the enviroment and the dryness. My cable elevators usually tend to keep the from happening. I know I'm on A phase and know how to figure that so maybe I will start turning off A phase breakers till I figure out of it goes away again. Any way, its back... DAMN't.

could it be the build up of a charge from not having the heat on all day and night and maybe the dry cold in basement made this happen or do you think its something we started using that night that could be sending harmonics back through the power. Mr. Sparky is going to come back but I'd like to get some idea's because whatever they do I'm sure I'll have to pay something. He wants to put a passive filter coupler or something on that sub panel but I have no idea if that affects sound. He said it should get rid of the hum. He also wants to do the computer test you mentioned you did at a discounted price for me. There normal price for that for my house is like $500 and he said its about a 5 or 6 hour test.

Check your grounding on your Cable TV or Satellite. Take the ground off the cable tv or Satellite and see if the hum is still there.

If the hum is only on the right channel-Might be a tube in your preamp...could switch L & R IC's and find out.
