Sorry to hear this. Mark Pinkerton and I had dinner with Jim when we worked at Garland Audio in San Jose and Jim and ARC's Bill Johnson came to the Bay Area for a show in the late 1970s. Jim was direct--maybe "acerbic" is a better descriptor--in his assessment of industry colleagues and their products and a pleasure to chat with...and learn from. He's missed.
