Ivan, this forum is a hoot! I use the PS audio units in my dedicated 20 amp service, sorry it was before your offering. I will look you up when I go back to my McIntosh Roots though.
Regards,
Jim

I would love to upgrade my main outlet going to my PPP. I have read a lot about the Oyaide R1 and the Ps Audio power port premier and some others(Wattgate, Furutech, and Shunyata), but I am looking for comments on the sound characteristics between the PSA and the Oyaide. Since it has been written here that both are good I figure this is a great place to ask.

Thanks,
Lou

I don't have a PS Audio power port premier, so I can't comment on this.
When I upgraded from a typical household outlet to the R1, I noticed cleaner sound. Background was darker. Resolution went up a notch. Contacts in the R1 are polished manually to mirror-like condition. This ensures optimal contact with male ends.
You can read more here.
OYAIDE ELEC,co,.ltd.

PS Audio premier is quite a bit cheaper than the R1 I think. Some online companies are selling cryoed R1. They say cryoed R1 has even better performance. I haven't tried.

The only company I can find that sells the cryoed R1 is out of them at the moment. I also was just pointed towards the TeslaPlex. I have read of people mixing them... one kind of outlet for the source and a different one for the amps. I was hoping this was going to be an easy decision but it is starting to look like a system dependent thing and I will have to audition them. That will be harder because for cables you have cable company but for outlets it will probably be a buy any try thing... My outlet is behind the rack and I will have to take it down to be able to change it. Having to swap a bunch of them back and forth is going to be a pain I would rather avoid if possible.

I also read good things about the TeslaPlex. People are amazed at their Quantum Tunnel technology. It sounds crazy, but seems to be effective in improving sound quality.

I have nine of the older Cryoed Furutech FP-15 (cu) 15A AC receptacles in my two systems.

I have a Oyaide R1(also Oyaide P-004 and C-004 connectors) on order...(from Cryo Parts coming in 8-1-09)

I am also making this power cord with Oyaide P-004 and C-004 connectors and
Acrolink 6N-P4030 power cord :
I will burn mine in with the Audiodharma Cable Cooker for about four to six days.
Cable Asylum: Acrolink 6N-P4030 with Oyaide 004 Beryllium AC connectors for PLC or power distributor... by Duster

RodWelst... I had the Acrolink 6N-P4030 with P/C-004 on my power bar for half a year. I'm planning to use this on my future plasma TV or a blu-ray player. They are really good for the money. The Acrolink is quite flexible.
