If my Panny 65VT50 fails, this may be my next set. Really sad to see plasma dying off.

When my Pioneer and Panasonic plasmas die there will be no question around their replacement. OLED is it for someone like me who values on/off contrast ratios and a very wide gamut. I saw the latest crop of OLED TV's at CEDIA and they were a cut above all the other technologies. No issues with REC 2020 and gorgeous liquid presentations evocative of the finest broadcast crt monitors. I am smitten.

Looking a lot of tv and reading more good advice I realized that OLED definitely is better than LCD and more 4K is better than HD even if you are looking a movie on a 75" screen at a distance of 4mt . Now the problem is..... buy now or wait one year and see if competitors make something new and lg reduce price ? And second I'm preparing the drawings of the forniture that will be the stand of tv and probably I will be able to fit a 75" but Lg now stop production at 65"

If you wait you will generally get better technology and a lower price. You can wait forever for the best new thing, but you won't have anything in the meantime.

The thing is to buy what you want when the price, technology and the time you might do without something all balance out and the voice in your head says "now is the time to buy".

If you can wait it out, I would (I am). I'm waiting for the 4K that supports the full potential of the new 4K Blu-ray standard.

Here is what Thomas J. Norton has to say about it.
http://www.audioaficionado.org/video...65-75-a-2.html

Add to what he says - the new HDMI standard is HDMI 2.0a.

The same brand throughout the house. I have three Samsung TV/Monitors in the house, 2x40 inch and the most recent addition a 75 inch. One of the major reasons for going with Samsung on the 75 inch was the remote. I know it may appear to be a silly reason but having the remote controls and the same GUI has made this users life easy.

With the announcements at CES 2016, you now have an answer. Choose one of the new TVs with the Ultra HD Premium logo. It will be 4K, High Dynamic Range, 10 bit, expanded color palette etc. LG and Panasonic are both introducing certified OLEDs.

As much as Gail and I hate the LG company, their OLED 4K TVs are the most resistant to ambient light reflecting off the screen--MUCH better than the Sony. In fact, Gail purchased a Sony and RETURNED it because of the visible light reflecting off the screen and got an LG. Sony was clearly not the best.

Meanwhile, in the last month, I purchased three Samsung TV's--a 65 4K for the tv room, 50 4K for the bedroom and 24 for the kitchen and I am very happy with them.
