Default Terk pro fm antenna
I just found a Terk pro FM antenna in a closet. I think it was left over when I had my theatre put in and for some reason never hooked up or used. I just bought an MR78. Would these be a good match?

Bill.......Any antenna is better than no antenna or the free dipole T antenna provided by many manufacturers. The Terk Pro is a directional antenna so orientation is important for the stations you are trying to receive, especially if they are distant. Since you already own it, you may as well give it a try.

I had a Terk antenna in the late 80's, it was pure CRAP. Don't remember the exact model but it was a powered unit that had a U shaped arm that could be moved around. Didn't work very well as I remember, I had it hooked up to an older Kenwood integrated. Anyway, in your case only one way to find out

I was hoping it would suck in frequencies. Sounds like I should not bother to connect it. It actually would be hard to hang that thing considering where I have my gear.

Well, I gave it a try. Boy the bedroom really looks "shi--y" with that big antenna above my fire place. I will remove before the wife come upstairs because I know I crossed the line here. Basically the signal strength meter goes from 6 to 8 here and there but at 6 NPR radio is heard just as well as 8. I can get more stereo channels with it but I honestly can not say I like stereo tuner music.

Bill.......Maybe you can move it to a closet or behind a bed along the baseboard, then run a coaxial cable from it to the tuner.
