What have you heard, if anything, will be the update to series 2? My dealer seems to think the new version will be more like the Alexia and have a softer presentation. If that's the case, I felt my current amp/preamp, which are McIntosh, may be the better match with the current Sasha.
Hdbc... Welcome! You will love your new Sashas! The new one has the silk tweeter, so I would expect it will be a little more like the Alexia. So I think you're correct on that, but either model will make you happy.

I heard they be simply adding Sasha 2 to the line, meaning Sasha "1" will still be available? And I totally agree, the "new" Wilson sound is not really better than the "old", just different. It's a matter of taste.

I do have to say I tried to resist but I fell for Alexia mids and treble.

Debby said that it replaces the existing sasha. Not sure how these rumors of both Sasha's coexisting got started, but I'd be inclined to believe her.

I'm probably the guilty party here. Just repeating what Peter McGrath said at a local get together, but this might be speculation on his part.

I just got another piece of the puzzle. There are so many things. For example I need to know if the lowboy (71.5") Thor spiking with diode will damage my hardwood floor. Also I have never seen XLF connectors. I assume if KKS3033 copper cable will hook up to my Maxxes, it will hook up to an XLF? I am contacting Wilson about both these things, taking nothing for granted.

I have noted that the width of the Thor is the width of the XLF. Man those babies are going to be wide. No way my 601 can remain where it is now. I was perplexed for a while as to where to put it. Then it came to me: Place it between my 1.2kW's. Now the look of new setup is beginning to take shape in my mind and a beautiful look it will be: flanking my horizontal lie Thor sub on either of its ends will be an XLF. The 601 will set between the 1.2kW's with the added bonus of ensuring that the speaker cable will easily reach the rears of the XLF's. This is because each amp will move closer to its respective speaker. I'm thankful I bought 25' balanced IC's. I'm quite pleased.

But if I have a problem whatever it may be, say there's something wrong with the speaker or a scratch, I expect Wilson to take the speaker back and fix it for free shipping included, etc..I expect my dealer to be out at my house all day setting them up to my satisfaction. I expect my Maxxes to be safely removed and crated up. Under the best of circumstances I'm going to be stressed beyond belief. I will never go through anything like that again.

However, when it's over and it will be over, I expect musical satisfaction forever. Wilson will have a lot invested in making me happy. So will my dealer. That's worth a lot to me. I am going to need a "low spike" arrangement specially supplied by Wilson and modification of the settings which they will re-calculate based on the fact that my XLF will be a "lowboy" at 71.5" in height. Even actually thinking about all this kicks up my heart rate and gets my adrenaline going. I cannot imagine what that day will be like. Doing it without full Wilson and dealer support.....
If you buy the XLF at full retail you are going to take a 100k hit in 3 years. I don't know what you're finances are but I can't afford to leave 100k on the table. If you buy a slightly used pair from a dealer or a demo you will save a lot of money and still have the same warranty. I've seen demos selling for 135k. That's a savings of 60k. That's a lot of dough. Personally I would never want a speaker that big. I would be happy with the Sasha or the Alexia. Plus I would never feel comfortable with such an expensive speaker even If I could afford it.

Taters, I don't plan on taking a hit because I will never sell my XLF. I may have them burried with me, I don't know.

I know I'm backwards but what dealer in his right mind would buy an XLF? Mine certainly wouldn't. If I were a dealer I wouldn't even remotely think about it. Besides I want new ones, shipped directly from Wilson to my dealer then straight to my house. Color will be black.

A.Wayne, can you send me some Advil. After I write the check I may not be able to afford any.

On second thought I may leave them to A.Wayne, if he's still alive and can still hear.
