crazy? heck no, I've read many instances of people stating differences by swapping a fuse end to end.

If I'm any kind of red-blooded audiophile, I really should be true-blue and swap it other way round.

Fuse polarity in general is one area where I draw the line, meaning I believe in Vudu and magic, but only to a point.

Ok Joe, you win, I'm swapping it.... it better not sound different!

I did not want to believe it myself, but on my 911 it sounded a little weird when I first put them in and lived with it for a while thinking they needed break-in (Ha!). I read somewhere about the directionality and to my amazement, it sounded better. I usually have trouble hearing the little things people talk about improving their systems. Not sure, but I am a believer.

Changing the two Hi-Fi Tuning fuses direction in my Premier 140 made a noticeable difference. It went from WTF, I just spent over a $100 for this? To a small improvement in clarity once they were oriented the other way.

As always, I'm sure the degree of change is going to be system dependent.

Good luck, hope you land up satisfied with them.

Rayoo,
Did you put swap out the correct fuse? not the slot for extra fuse
I found after swapping them out with Hi-Fi Fuse system is little more musical than before.

So, I guess.....

'swapped the fuse around, and I'd have to say at least in my mind, it sounds better. but there is simply no reason based on anything beyond my own expectations that could explain this...but I'm leaving it in this new direction!

As long as I'm playing in the twilight zone, let's continue. I'd also say that putting the fuse in the "wrong way" actually sounded worse than the stock fuse.

I lost my audiophile dictionary that provides the words and phrases we use to describe music reproduction quality . So at the risk of using the wrong words...I'd just say the music was somewhat "dry" with the fuse wrong way round, warmer and richer after the swap.

Disclaimer:

Anyone thinking I'm for making such comments. I agree totally.

"We now return control of your television set to you until next week..."
'hope there's at least one person around who's old enough to recognize that phrase.

all in all a nice little tweak that doesn't hurt a thing!
Thanks Joe for reminding me about the fuse direction!

According to some of the reviews I've read these fuses are directional. with the signal following the direction of the arrow. I think I will give try as well.

Ray,

I agree 100% with everything you stated above. I can't explain it myself. To make matters worse, I needed two fuses for my amp and I installed them in opposite directions, not even thinking about putting them in the same way. I guess I was to excited to try them out, I just popped them in. That's when changing direction hit home!

Enjoy.

That must have confused them.
