Default MR88 XM question

Where do you go to get the XM antenna and service contract? Is it an inside or outside antenna?

I would get a true external antenna. You'll be disappointed with an inside antenna that has to sit on a window stool.

Terk XM6 XM Radio Home and Commercial Weatherproof Antenna:

Amazon.com: Terk XM6 XM Radio Home and Commercial Weatherproof Antenna: Electronics

I use this one and it works great. There are others though. Make sure it is properly grounded or you will have hum.

It would be nice if McIntosh would get the MR88 owner's manual posted to the MR88 web page. I've checked everyday since they posted the tuner, but no manual yet. Come on McIntosh, get your webmaster in gear.

Anyone compared the new MR88 to a MR78? Broadcast FM sound quality?
As for XM, wouldn't the sound be comparable to a digital output signal from, say a DirecTV box?

My MR88 is finally set to arrive tomorrow morning, and I already have the XM Mini-Tuner and Home Dock. I plan on installing everything tomorrow and will report on how well it works. I will start with putting the antenna included with the Home Dock in the attic space over my garage. Since my car's XM radio works in the garage with the door shut, I figure I have a good chance of getting the Home Dock's antenna to work OK as well. If not, I'll look into the external antenna mentioned above.
