Are you trying to go from D/A 1 to D/A 3 on the MDA1000 by using the input +/- buttons on the C1000 remote or using the discrete input buttons on the MDA1000 remote control? When I tried to use the MDA1000 discrete input commands with the C1000 set to "D/A On", I had similar issues to yours, but I was able to scroll through the MDA1000's inputs with the C1000's input +/- buttons. When I set the C1000 to "D/A Off", I was able to use the MDA1000 discrete input commands, but then the C1000 input +/- buttons did not change the MDA1000 inputs.

Do you have a cable running from your c1000 data control #7 to your MDA 1000?
I do and I believe that should allow the C1000 controller to control the MDA Inputs.

Even using the selection knob on the C1000 I get the same results. I thought it might have been the remote also.

I will ask AC. Thanks.

If I replace the cable and it works. Easy fix.

If that doesn't work and Chuck Hinton can't give me any other solutions then the c1000 and or the MDA will need to go back in for repair.

I do have a data cable (Radio Shack 1/8" stereo mini-plug) between the C1000 data port 7 (labeled D/A) and the MDA1000.

What I was trying to say is that the C1000's remote control will only allow you to scroll through the MDA1000 inputs by means of pressing the input + or - arrows. The MDA1000's remote allows direct selection of a particular input on the MDA1000.

If you haven't already, check out pages 25 and 26 of the C1000 manual for the section on D/A Control (MDA1000). If you've gone through all of this, then either a cable swap and/or a call to Chuck are in order.

Sorry I couldn't help. Hope you get it sorted out soon.

Well since I have been running my system for 12-15 hours a day the symptom has returned.

I have been using the c1000 discrete commands D/A 1, 3, 4 to control the associated port on my MDA1000. So if I am listening to music for 5-6 hours then decide to watch a DVD the c1000 D/A input will change to the appropriate number but the MDA 1000 doesn't using the C1000 discrete commands. However if I use the C1000 D/A input +/- it works. Now if I turn the system off and then back on the c1000 discrete commands work.

That's really strange.

I have a couple of questions for you. First, which main remote are you using? The earlier C1000's came with the HR054, while the newer ones use the HR061. When you say that you use the C1000 discrete commands D/A 1, 3, 4, etc., what button sequence exactly do you use? Do you push the D/A button and then the appropriate number? I ask because I had been thinking that it was necessary to push the D/A button and then the arrows to scroll to the desired MDA1000 input.

I have a HR061. But I use a URC MX-980 to control my entire system. Either way the discrete commands directly from the HR061 do not work all the time.

I press the D/A button then the appropriate number. I am not trying to scroll through the commands. I only use the scroll command when the MDA doesn't change.

Thanks
