C2200 tube upgrade?

Anyone replaced factory tubes in a C2200 with different/upgraded tubes?

I have Jan phillips tubes in my c-2200 with great results. They came with the unit that I purchased from a friend, so nailing down a price would be difficult. I don't think I have more than $150.00 in them.

dpgstereo.......The C2200 has two different tube types installed. They are 12AX7, and 12AT7. There is one of each tube type in both the left channel and right channel line stages, and one of each tube type in the left and right channel phono stage.

When I owned the C2200 I tried Mullard, Philips, Tung-Sol, and Telefunken tubes of both types. They each have there respective sound. To my ears the Tung-Sol and the Telefunken tubes sounded the best. I ultimately settled on Telefunken 12AX7 and 12AT7 tubes in both the line stage and the phono stage. I found them to be incredibly quiet, and extremely musical, that is detailed, dynamic and more transparent than the factory tubes. You will be the only one who can determine what sounds best to you, so don't be afraid to experiment. Printed on the circuit board by each tube socket is the tube number for that socket. Pay particular attention to which tubes go where when you are installing different manufacturer's tubes.
