By “back in the day” do you mean the 80’s when MTV started? Being a teenager from late 70’s to mid 80’s ALL the music videos were great. It was a revolution.
 I remember the first night well.  It was a separate cable box that needed to be hooked up to the tv and I had it hooked up well ahead of time. A few friends came over with anticipation and then magic happened...“Video Killed The Radio Star” At 12:01am on August 1, 1981, history was made when MTV, the first 24-hour video music channel, launched onto our television sets and literally changed our lives with the birth of the music video. The first video ever played on the network was quite ironic — “Video Killed The Radio Star” by The Buggles.  The 80’s had powerhouses like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Cindy Lauper, not to mention all the other bands. So hard to even say what my favorite was.... Michael Jackson’s video for “Thriller” was released nearly 40 years ago, on December 2nd, 1983. Director John Landis (The Blues Brothers, An American Werewolf in London) extended the track — the seventh and final single released from the Thriller album — into a nearly 14-minute-long musical horror film, letting Michael indulge his monster-movie fantasies. It got saturation play on MTV and has been seen more than 149 million times on YouTube.
