Hi Rob

Yes BNC is a COAX design and it does offer a very secure connection as well as a true 75 ohm connection which is desirable for digital transmission.

Alas, many DAC and transport/player designs do not offer BNC connections so you have to use an adaptor.

I am revisiting my post as I finally got to that fuse upgrade. I will install a Synergistic Research Orange 1A slo-blo in socket F201, with the "R" of the SR logo in direction of the front of the panel. For my amplifier, I went with fuses one notch above the rated values because the SR fuses seems to blow more easily. But for a DAC, especially my beloved BDA-3, I prefer to stick to rated value. I don't know what will be the actual benefits from that fuse upgrade, neither the order of magnitude so stay tuned as I will report later. For the meantime, I will let my system settle in as I made 3 recent upgrades in the last two weeks so I wish to get used to the sound before I jump on another upgrade.

It's installed! Currently breaking in the fuse (read: listening music ) so I will report some time later in a separate thread.

Serge-

Look forward to your impressions. As an aside, received an email from VHAudio and they are offering a 3 for 2 Orange sale during the month of August.

Initial impressions are positives but I was expecting greater improvements. It's not as impressive as it was when I inserted the Blue fuses in my amplifier for example.

3 for 2.. Humm, now that's interesting..

I understand that the Orange fuses take a little while longer to ‘settle’ after installation.

Placebo? I have to believe that for the cost of the fuse, if it actually made a difference, Bryston would have included it and raised the price as its all about the sonics.

Default Update on Bryston BDA-3 Production Schedule?

Hi

This message is for James Tanner.

I have a BDA-3 on order since 6/30/2021. I was wondering if you could give an update on Bryston's production schedule for these.

I understand that Bryston is dealing with challenges from Canadian Covid workplace protocols and parts shortage. Any word on either?

Thanks

Although Bryston can’t give us an exact date, it won’t be much longer. My Bryston orders are starting to arrive.

They have been open and closed 12 times this year due to COVID in Canada.
