Thanks guys for the compliments. I hope to take some close-ups of some other HiFi stuff. I enjoy this type of photography & trying out the new lens was fun.

Cool photos that Steve.
Funnily I was more mesmerised with the grooves in the vinyl, especially the wobbly ones towards the first 3rd of the record. More vinyl shots please |

Hi Steve, a visit from me.
Very beautiful Mc system and nice pictures too. I am sure the system will sound great. I would love to have a room full of these blue meters too. Toga |

There's enough WireWorld fever here on AA for me to have the motivation to transition into the G7 Platinum Eclipse loudspeaker & XLR cables on the 2-ch side plus XLR for the centre channel MC2301 amp.
The Wireworld G7s are replacing Furutech Flux which are a great cable BTW. The rhodium plate takes well over 1000 hours to hit their peak & for the sparkle to come through solidly. This cable was a little forward for my room & I have been wanting a little more soundstage depth & transient decay without any loss in speed or resolution. Hopefully as silky smooth as the Siltech & fraction more warmth to the top end like the Zitron Anaconda XLRs. After a week on the cable burner, a weekend system rewire & tidy up, it was finally time to slip them in. Having undergone major disturbances as a result, I am expecting some pain ahead with the new XLRs pushing all 3 MC2301s & loudspeaker cables driving the Dali Grands. Not to mention, existing cable which has been disturbed, re routed & repositioned. First up, HT passthru, to get current into the entire loom & relax the aching back muscles from hours of wiring contortion. Well, the first hour was pig ugly. Bright, harsh & no bass. Smeared & blurry, even the db levels are down. I'm not even going to think about re calibrating the HT surround processor for awhile. The second hour it's all starting to settle. I can hear potential there. I know it will snap into place over the next 48 hours & then continue to improve. Patience. Maybe later, I'll spin a SACD to see where it's at & then run the Isotek CD on repeat overnight. Excitement & some further anxiety ahead! Last edited by MyPal; 11-29-2013 at 03:49 AM. |
