It is possible but not certain. How will you determine what to set and how to set it?

Only my ears. This is the least scientific answer but I plan to wing it. The guess as of now is that the low end could be a bit stronger(?) than the mids and highs.

The problem with using the tap method is the lack of ability to make fine adjustments with the precision needed for optimal (flat) response. |

Once more, why not use identical amps? Bi-amping with different amps is like driving a 4*4 vehicle with a pair of summer and a pair of winter tires in my experience. One pair will always be out of place.

To bi-amp or not, that is the question

Indeed! Two 1.25k’s per channel would sound phenomenal. Ok, ok, maybe a bit overkill, but hell...this is Audio Aficionado, dammit! :rotflmao: |

So far, I don't really understand what impact on the sonics using 2 different amps will have. Especially, if they are extremely close in gain and I have all these methods to ensure the sound will be dialed in. Besides, a 462 sitting between 2 2301's has a very high "cool to look at" factor. Is there any risk of amp or speaker damage, is it a waste of time? |
