Guys,

Recently acquired some vintage stuffs, a rare MC50 mono block, MC225, 240, C28, The Fisher 800C.

As seen in pictures, I would like hear your comments about the Fisher 800C and the MC50, am looking for another one though.

I dont know much about the Fisher unit but it really looks true vintage. All those will be hooked up and pair with my Quad ESL63. What would be the best buy between Mc MX110 and Fisher 800C. What am I missing ? Thks guys.

Wow....this is all really cool vintage gear. Yes that Fisher 800-C is from the day when Fisher was really a respected name. I've had no personal experience with it, but I remember my Uncle's Fisher system that I used to drool over as a kid. He had the solid state model 500TX.

That's a very nice assortment of Mac gear as well....looks to be in very nice shape.

I sure wouldn't mind playing around with that 800-C.

NICE!!!

Pat.......The C28 and the MC240 would be my choices for the beginning of a great vintage system. The other pieces are nice but I would use their sale to bankroll a nice turntable, cartridge, interconnects and speaker cables.

I know Fisher lovers like the 800

Here is the owners manual

Have you thought about a Pasive Pre on the MC50?
Put a deticated mono system together for Mono vinyl playback?

But the OP's signature doesn't look to need bankrolling

In fact I have acquired two 800C, both in good condition with full set of original Fisher tubes which were either made in USA, Gt British and W.Germany.

What can you tell if those German tubes were made by Telefunken back in the day? All those power output tubes are RCAs in one unit and the other has mix of Zenith General Electric.

This is gonna be a project for upcoming weekends and hope they work as they should.
